Five Metal Dances - Forms In Transition

Installation, film with five poems and five recorded dances, 6.02 min, 200x100x100, objet trouvé, aluminium, acrylic glass, stainless steel, Kunstpavillon Munich, 2023

The five dance sculptures in the work “Five Metal Dances - Forms in Transition” are recorded performances showing a dancer who moves intuitively and dances with a flash in her hand that constantly triggers, illuminating the moving image and freezing it for a brief moment. The dancer is in transition from rigidity to movement. Five aluminum casts hang in front of the film projection, almost dissolving in the reflecting cube and in front of the moving screen. The projected poems in the work describe the qualities of the dances and are nourishment for the body and the mind. It is a poetic attempt to embody the resonance behind the rigid structures. The body in movement becomes the strongest instrument of liberation. The interplay between inner gesture "State" and outer dance gesture "Posture" is always in interaction. In this way, the inside and the outside become more and more one dance.
